URGENT FEB DEADLINE- WILL THESE NEW ZEALAND PROPOSED SUPPLEMENT RESTRICTIONS CHANGE EVERYTHING
This time Government will mean business.
Follow the money for it sure isn’t to do with safety, public harm or for the public good.
If it was, then applying the same principles of potential harms would pretty much remove from the market most pharmaceuticals – which have very significant risk-benefits.
Something is very fishy – are we horse trading supplements for something else?
The link to the MOH website with all the draft documents and link to approval database below. The last link is the link in the MOH list is the link to the database of proposed approved substances and ingredients along with the restrictions of use and concentration limits. If you cross reference ingredients in a product with this database you will quickly find out if they will be allowed to be sold in NZ or not.
The public have until 5 February 5pm to get their submissions in during this consultation process. There are a few of us that think we might need to try and get this out and into the public arena somehow to try and raise awareness of what this is actually going to mean if it is allowed to pass in its current form. Obviously this is a really bad time of year but as some have said that is probably been planned that way.
From what I can understand the biggest issue is the approval process that is extremely heavy handed and placing unwarranted restrictions on substances and ingredients which will mean that we will loose access to those products.
